This procedure is used when the patient wishes for a child of specific sex either for social, medical, or family balancing reasons. The woman will undergo an IVF cycle, the embryos created and biopsied and a certain number of chromosomes tested to determine the gender of the resulting embryos. In this way, embryos of the preferred gender can then be replaced. At present, the only country that we work with where this is possible is North Cyprus.
